About the Team

It's fun to work on a team where people truly believe in what they're doing. At Workday, we are committed to bringing passion and customer focus to the business of enterprise applications. We work hard, and we're serious about what we do. But we like to have a good time, too. FUN is one of our core values!

About the Role

We’re looking for a strategic and curious Senior Manager of Finance Applications Maintenance & Enablement (FAME) team—to strengthen the long-term support, adoption, and scalability of finance systems and tools.

You will join our Finance Transformation team — a fast-moving, future-focused group that senior leadership counts on to drive big, meaningful change across the organization.

About You

In this role, you’ll lead this team to provide structured, proactive support for core finance applications (ERP, SaaS, reporting, RPA), supporting various finance functions while partnering closely with Business Technology (BT) to transition long-term system ownership and ensure enterprise alignment. This role is critical to helping finance teams operate with confidence in their tools while accelerating change and innovation responsibly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the FAME team focused on finance application maintenance, operational support, user enablement, and governance.

  • Partner across multiple finance functions (Controllership, FP&A, Procurement, Audit, Tax) to gather requirements, align on business needs, and provide structured support for applications and processes.

  • Serve as an advisory partner on implementation timelines, testing readiness, change management needs, and go-live planning to ensure sustainable handoffs from project mode to maintenance.

  • Establish and manage intake processes for support tickets, bug resolution, enhancement requests, and user access needs.

  • Coordinate closely with BT on release schedules, incident resolution, patch management, and future-state roadmap planning.

  • Develop clear support models and SLAs for run-the-business activities across finance applications.

  • Maintain business-side ownership of knowledge bases, training materials, and change documentation.

  • Support compliance, audit readiness, and internal controls (SOX, ITGC) in collaboration with Risk, Audit, and BT

  • Identify opportunities for automation, AI integration, and streamlined workflows to improve efficiency and user experience.

Basic Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in finance systems, finance transformation, or application support roles.

  • Hands-on knowledge of platforms like Workday, Oracle, Coupa, Blackline, Snowflake, or equivalent.

  • Strong understanding of finance process areas (e.g., Record-to-Report, Procure-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash).

  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional support teams and partner effectively with both business and technology.

  • Experience advising on implementation planning and transition readiness from projects to operations.

  • A service-first mindset with a focus on scalability, documentation, and continuous improvement.

  • Familiarity with governance structures, change control, and audit practices.

Our Approach to Flexible Work

With Flex Work, we’re combining the best of both worlds: in-person time and remote. Our approach enables our teams to deepen connections, maintain a strong community, and do their best work. We know that flexibility can take shape in many ways, so rather than a number of required days in-office each week, we simply spend at least half (50%) of our time each quarter in the office or in the field with our customers, prospects, and partners (depending on role). This means you'll have the freedom to create a flexible schedule that caters to your business, team, and personal needs, while being intentional to make the most of time spent together. Those in our remote "home office" roles also have the opportunity to come together in our offices for important moments that matter.
